Most of the pictures on this site were the result of random serendipity, taken while travelling, walking or cycling. Occasionally, I had an idea or project in mind; to create a collection on a particular theme.
I therefore have two approaches to photography: prowling about with a camera, hoping to snap something interesting; and, visualising something in my minds eye and planning how to capture it.
One of the greatest benefits of digital photography is that post-processing bridges the gap between chance and thoughtfulness. Also between Seeing and Communicating.
My interests have shifted over the last year or so towards creative projects and ‘photoartistry’. Some of my most recent and more creative work can be found here: www.alan-jones.com
